Описание товара
This is one of those excellent, intelligent Vertigo series that got me
back into comics and graphic novels after a couple of decades of
absence. Specifically, it is the six issue run of "Ghostdancing" which
originally ran from March'95 to Sept.'95.
The author (Jamie Delano) states in the introduction that he wrote
the series as an act of justice for the Native Americans that suffered
or perished in defence of their people and their land. As a matter of
fact it is dedicated to them. That was his inspiration for this mad,
symbolic, apocalyptic drama- a millenial western epic.
This is the tale of Old man Coyote- and how he crossed over once
again to cause trouble and wake up the people in the Fourth World. He
had tried it once before during the Ghostdancing, but his enemies were
too strong. All this time he has slept in the lodge between the worlds
while his relatives danced to keep the earth turning. As he slept he
dreamed of the dawning of the Fifth World from the West- and how the
bad, crazy Fourth World will be swept away. Now he has dreamed his
power back- and it is time to cross back over to find and awake White
Buffalo Woman.
It was remarkable that the white buffalo calf was born in Wisconsin
right after Delano scripted this story- after he had seen the Great
Herd thundering across the sky towards the East....
